We are in the middle of transitioning Eliana to her "big girl room and bed". She has not been a big fan of the change. After some throwing up and extreme crying she is slowly getting used to the change. We wouldn't do it if we didn't have the baby coming in less than 7 weeks. We started off by having me nap with her in the room (I still am sleeping on a different mattress which was in that room because my back has been so bad). Then we just sat in the room until she fell asleep. Now, we're to the point of putting her in her bed and waiting outside the room. We watch the video monitor and wait for her to get out of bed and then place her back in.
Probably the worst part of the whole transition besides the throwing up from her getting so worked up is that she's been getting up so much earlier again. She opens her door and pops into either the room where Ben is sleeping or where I'm sleeping. It's only been a few days and we're praying for her to get comfortable again.
On another note, my mom had surgery on her hand on Friday and is recovering quite well. You really can't slow her down. Ben wants to know why nurses make the worst patients. She is definitely getting sick of being at home, especially after the horrible ice storm we had last night.
Hope all is well and I'll continue to update on both Ellie and mom!

We bought another crib that converts to a full size bed for Vera because our kids are only 18 months apart and than tried later to switch but we are back in the crib and waiting for her to tell us when she is ready... NO FUN! Good luck
Not to worry Heather - she will
eventually come to terms with the
whole big sister thing - I guaran-
