Shedd Aquarium

This morning we stayed inside and swam with the kids because of the rain. For the afternoon though we were able to get out and enjoy the Shedd Aquarium. O.K., maybe I shouldn't have said enjoy. We only spent one hour there (paid $50 buy the way) because Eliana was not cooperating. Drew did well though :)

Navy Pier

Eliana and I rode the Navy Pier ferris wheel. Ben took her to ride the carousel, but I didn't get any pics unfortunately because I had to feed Drew.We got to the top and Eliana said, "mommy I'm done"

Our little Drew was such a good boy, quite the little personality coming out.

Fado's Irish Pub

Fado's is the Irish Pub where Eliana had her first taste of Guinness when she was 8 months. Now, at almost 6 months, Drew had a little taste of it on his lips.

It's hard to tell, but Eliana has a Guinness foam mustache. Eliana kept calling the Guinness "Daddy's Milk"
Having a taste of Guinness.
Not so sure she likes the taste.

Lincoln Park Zoo

This morning we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Eliana enjoyed it and Drew liked the ride in the stoller that put him to sleep.

Eliana's in that stage where she's not too cooperative with pictures. You never know what you're going to get.

The view from the parking lot was awesome.

Millenium Park

After naptime we went for a walk to Millenium Park. When we vacationed here two years ago when Eliana was 8 months old, we spent alot of time here.
Drew's reflection in "the bean"

Eliana touching the bean.
Family portrait.

Drew by the fountains, next time we'll bring our suits and let Drew join in on the fun.
Millenium Park is famous for "the bean" as well as their water spitting fountains. The faces move and change and then "spit" water, there is also water that flows all around the fountains.

Rainforest Cafe

This morning, Ben took Eliana swimming and I stayed in the room for Drew's nap. Then we went to the grocery store, back to the hotel and off to the Rainforest Cafe. Eliana liked it, although was a bit scared at times.

If you haven't been to a rainforest cafe, every 10-20 minutes there is a rain storm and the animals move and make noise also.

We've Arrived

We made it to Chicago after a very long 6 1/2 hour car ride that should have only taken about 4 1/2 hours. Eliana slept for a little bit and Drew did pretty well although he was sick of his seat.

We stopped at Kopps Custard in Milwaukee for lunch, Eliana loved eating by the waterfall.
Eliana had her first chance at using her DVD player and she loved it.

Our Little Ones

We're headed to Chicago today for our family vacation. I'll be updating from Chicago (assuming everything works the way it's supposed to) for the next week.
I took the kids in the front yard last week for a few quick pictures. My time was limited as the attention span of a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 1/2 month old.
Giving kisses to Drew.
This is a classic picture of Eliana rubbing Drew's "fuzzy head"

She said and I quote "I'm done mom, I want to go play"
